Who We Are
The Mindful Place
Founded in 2021, The Mindful Place is a warm, supportive therapeutic practice dedicated to attachment-focused therapy, trauma-informed care, and group-based wellness education.
Our goal is to help strengthen relationships, improve emotional well-being, and build long-term resilience.
In 2024, we opened our Cambridge office, expanding our services to include in-person therapy and group wellness programs. Our space was thoughtfully designed to help you feel comfortable, supported, and genuinely heard.
Compassionate and Evidence-Based Care
We know how important it is to work with therapists and presenters who truly get it — whether through lived experience, focused expertise, or in-depth training. Our team leads with compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based approaches tailored to your unique needs.
Our Approach to Therapy
At The Mindful Place, we believe that therapy is most effective when grounded in authenticity and trust. Inspired by remarkable therapists and teachers before us, we combine clinical expertise with holistic wellness practices to cultivate genuine connection in the therapeutic process.
Our Passion is Twofold:
Attachment-based counselling and psychotherapy
Learn to meet your needs, soothe your nervous system, and rediscover a true sense of home, both within yourself and in your relationships.
Wellness and mental health presentations
Create a meaningful and interactive learning experience in your business, school, community organization, or private function.

Our Story
Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming; it takes courage to turn inward and face the parts of yourself that are asking to be seen and understood. Yet, the journey of increasing self-awareness can be one of the most empowering and meaningful steps you take. Whether you’re navigating a major life transition, facing relationship challenges, processing past experiences, or simply longing to reconnect with yourself, reaching out for support is a profound act of self-love.
We’re honoured to support you along your path, offering care, meaningful dialogue, and therapeutic tools to help you create the life and relationships you truly desire, rooted in awareness, balance, and self-acceptance. We look forward to seeing you soon at The Mindful Place.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re looking to see whether your health benefit plan covers our services, our therapists are Registered Social Workers with a Master of Social Work degree. They are members of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
Psychotherapist is a protected title in Ontario, referring to professionals trained and registered to provide psychotherapy. Therapist is a broader term that can refer to anyone providing therapeutic services, including social workers, psychotherapists, psychologists, or counsellors.
At The Mindful Place, psychotherapy is offered by Registered Social Workers who are licensed and trained to provide therapeutic support.
Your privacy is always our top priority. If you happen to cross paths in a public space, your therapist will not acknowledge you, unless you acknowledge them first. This is to protect your confidentiality and ensure that you remain in control of your boundaries.
Some clients choose to say hello, while others prefer not to — it’s entirely up to you. If you choose to say hello, your therapist would keep the interaction brief and respectful, without discussing anything personal or related to your sessions.
If you’d like to talk about how to handle this kind of situation ahead of time, feel free to bring it up in session. We’re here to support your comfort in and out of the therapy space.
Confidentiality is a core part of the therapeutic relationship. What you share in sessions and through other forms of correspondence (e.g., phone and email) stays between you and your therapist in your client file. However, there are four exceptions required by law where we would need to inform others outside of the therapy space (such as risk of harm to self or others, child abuse, etc.). These exceptions are clearly explained in the intake forms and at the start of therapy.
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. Your therapist will ask questions about your history, your current challenges, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable — we’ll move at your pace and always prioritize creating a safe, supportive space.
Yes, The Mindful Place offers both counselling and psychotherapy, each designed to meet different needs in a safe and supportive environment.
Counselling typically focuses on helping you navigate specific challenges or life transitions, such as stress, relationships, grief, or decision-making. It is often shorter-term, present-focused, and solution-based.
Psychotherapy involves more in-depth exploration of emotional patterns, long-standing mental health concerns, and deep healing. It may be used to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or past emotional experiences, often over a longer period.
In Ontario, psychotherapy is considered a controlled act under the Regulated Health Professions Act, which means it can only be performed by regulated healthcare professionals such as Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychotherapists, and other licensed professionals. The Mindful Place is fully trained and regulated to provide psychotherapy services in accordance with Ontario’s legal and ethical standards.
